Greetings and Yes we did have the 2017 Parade and Festival--
A big thank you goes out to all who participated --the weather was not the best and we have had worse--
I do want to thanks the parade participants that took the time and effort t decorate their floats--we had several very good floats
We had three great floats that were given our top three awards and they are as follows:

Welcome to the 2017 Unity Group’s Christmas Festival and Parade web page.

This was our 25th Festival and Parade which started in 1992. The original purpose of the Festival and parade is to inspire unity within the many towns and communities in northern Brunswick County and provide a little family fun (Free) to those families and their children.

Ronald McDonald

"Ronald McDonald is one of the most well-known clowns in the world, and his presence makes any event that much special," said Karla Taylor, Director of Marketing. "No matter what kind of event it is, if Ronald McDonald shows up, people get excited."
McDonald's of Leland NC is proud to bring Ronald and his friends , Hamburglar and the Grimace to the 2017 NB North Carolina Christmas Parade. These McDonald's are owned and operated by Dennis Anderson. Please note:(McDonald's Restaurant Village Road was the first fast food restaurant in the Leland area)
One of the most recognizable clowns in the world Ronald McDonald makes appearances at high profile events, spreading happiness and fun wherever he goes. He also is the spiritual leader of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which helps children live better, happier and healthier lives. His efforts are a part of the McDonald's on-going commitment to social responsibility and
giving back to the community.

Its not to late to submit your parade application to us--The deadline is December 1 to have your name printed in our parade booklet.

As in years’ past the  festival will be held at Leland’s Town Hall Park (off of Village Road Leland NC) and the parade route will be from Division Drive off of Old Fayetteville Road to Town Hall Drive to the Clarendon Shopping Center on Village Road.

Parts of Old Fayetteville and Village Road will close at
9am and the parade will begin at 10am--The parade will end sometime around 11:30-12 noon

Many thanks to all the past sponsors including our advertisers, craft vendors, food vendors and others for this annual event. The Unity Group receives no special funding from any one source for this event. The Unity Group is a non-profit community organization. Our mission is to make sure that Christ remains in Christmas.

We rely on our businesses and other individual supporters to finance this event and it has a cost!.

There is insurance requirements, printing, setup, entertainment and other expenses that the businesses help pay and A BIG Thank you to the Town of Leland for Hosting and helping off-set the cost and providing the location of the festival. Also special thanks goes out to  the police department for the coordination of the security at this event.
